Oatmeal Chocolate Chippers

Cream: 2 cups butter 1 1/2 cup brown sugar 1 1/2 cup sugar Add: 4 eggs 2 t hot water 2 t vanilla Add: 3 cups flour 2 t salt 2 t soda Add: 4 cup oats 12 ounces chocolate or butterscotch chips Bake at 350 degrees about 8 minutes.

  2. Yeah! You posted this recipe, Mom! The same recipe that Michelle sent me in 1993 whilst I was on my mission in the Great Ohio! In a later recipe, I mentioned that I wanted to post the Monson Chocolate Chippers recipe that I remember from my youth. Thank you!

    Of course, you lack the fun commentary that Michelle added, such as:
    * 1½ cups Sugar (white sweet stuff)
    * 4 eggs (think of Easter Bunnies)
    * 2 tsp Vanilla (extract, not ice cream... sorry Michael!)
    * 2 tsp Salt (white salty stuff)
    * 2 tsp soda (baking, not pop)

    I'll have to update my future Chocolate Chip recipe from a family in the Hyrum ward to denote that the Monson classic recipe has been posted by my very own Mom! :-) Love you, Mom!
